First of all let me say that I was very reminiscent of the early dogma, since the author has included a very humorous note, which you should have read myself. The story may sound like just any love story, it is not. How do I describe it, without spoiling too? Far too clever, this film jumps around from joyful and sorrowful to death than to be called "simple". He is not told chronologically, and this gives it something extra that is missing other films with similar subject.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel are perfect cast in the lead roles. Tom is a young, music-loving man, what is known in high school like a geek. Kinda cute, but still not that of which dreams are made of types, and thus not what one would expect from the side of a woman like Summer. After all, they could have any, and which she is also aware. But just come over without narcissistic and Zooey Deschanel brings over wonderful.
"500 Days of Summer" is a beautiful film that tells of the magic of the great dialogues just blossoming love, yet its dark side misses and not take up the transience of the butterflies.
