2009 was finally filmed the children's classic by Maurice Sendak - the result is a surprisingly dark film. Although the plot is not very far-reaching and fast, but the film itself is - in my opinion - surprisingly complex.
Max is obviously a child of divorce. His mother has to work much, so she has little time for him and his big sister has also employ other things on his mind than with the little devils. He lived more in his fantasy world - though without losing touch with reality. How much anger is really in the small shows, only when his mother her new friend for dinner brings home. Max is dancing on the table, so his mother on the nose, it will be loud, Max, who is not used to tears, and gets into the realm of the wild things quickly to declare their king.
The Wild Things Are "are not just guys, the German title is something misleading. We have since the very choleric Carol, which is next to Max, the main character. Then there is KW, an adventurous but very gentle red-haired "lady" is obviously in love with what Carol. Judith is a selfish little person with no self-confidence, which is often noisy and even with Ira together, their haven, which it builds again. The anxious Alexander, Douglas reasonable and a bison (whose name will no longer occur to me) complete the group.
Well, you look behind the facade of the simple kind of movie you will realize that all these characters represent the different facets of Max's character, which in itself is a clever idea. It gives the film a certain depth, which is contrary to the relatively simple storyline completely. In the later stages is represented beautifully with their help, how to grow his own feelings about Max's head - slowly but surely, he learns important things, such as that his mother loves him no less, just because it works a lot or has a boyfriend.
The soundtrack is great and beautiful to match the pictures showing the film transfers the emotions of the characters. The cast of Max (Max Records), mastering his role brilliantly, it represents a credible - it's just great fun to watch him.
"Where the Wild Things Are" is a great fairy tale for the whole family, that's not to be seen.
